The Subway restaurant franchise started in Bridgeport, CT by a 17-year-old with a dream to go to college and a $1,000 loan from a family friend. Today, Subway is one of the largest franchise restaurant chains in the world. They maintain their success in part by keeping operating costs low so they can provide quality sandwiches to their customers. Installing energy efficiency products from The Madison Energy Group seemed like a no-brainer. Watch their story.
PizzaHut was founded in 1958 by brothers Dan and Frank Carney in their hometown of Wichita, Kansas. This entrepreneurial story started with an idea to open a pizza parlor with a $600 loan from their mother. Their pizza restaurant chains grew quickly and became acquired by PepsiCo in November 1977.
To maintain their successful operations, reducing overhead costs is always top priority. The Madison Energy Group’s EnerG2 product was a perfect fit.
McDonalds is not only famous for their Big Mac and special sauce, but the story of their beginnings is one that higher learning institutions and entrepreneurial leaders continually reflect upon. This restaurant chain started the concept of operating efficiency and using assembly stations in their restaurant. This method produced fast food really fast, all while maintaining a quality product.
It’s no wonder why these restaurant franchises saw the opportunity to lower their operating expenses with energy efficiency products from The Madison Energy Group.

How much can I earn?
Viv’s revenue share is generous and simple. How does Viv make money on bill negotiation?
When a customer saves on a bill, Viv splits the savings with the customer. That means Viv won’t make money unless the customer does, plus there is no risk to the customer to try the service!
What kind of bills can be negotiated?
All kinds! The most common bills include cable, phone, internet, satellite (television and radio), pest control and home security/alarm services, but Viv can lower almost any recurring monthly charge by negotiating a better rate. And you won’t pay a penny if Viv doesn’t find savings, so there’s no harm in trying!
How does electricity auto-switching work?
In many states, consumers don’t have to buy electricity from a local utility company, thanks to energy deregulation. Deregulation means consumers have a choice of where they can purchase their electricity (unlike regulated states where consumers must purchase their electricity from the utility). For those consumers, there are options out there that can save them money, but making a choice isn’t always simple. Viv’s software tracks the markets daily and knows where the savings are. It considers customers’ home, usage, renewal time frame and other details and pairs each consumer with the right plan.
Who is eligible for a utility audit?
Businesses that have more than a year of utility bills and spend a minimum of $100,000 per year on all their utilities combined (electric, natural gas, sewer, water, waste, and telecom) are eligible. Viv does audits in all 50 states for companies of all sizes ranging from small family-owned restaurants to large manufacturing plants, franchises, non-profits, hospitals and stadiums. Viv also works regularly with municipalities, educational facilities and more. Whether you or your client have one location or several with multiple utility providers, Viv can help!
What kinds of errors will a utility audit find?
Some of the most common errors are in incorrect rate classes, implementation of tariffs, tax classifications, meter readings, charges for non-existing services and complex billing codes. Viv’s auditors know what to look for and where to find it!
How long does an audit take?
Most audits last between 6 and 8 weeks, depending on the billing complexity. The client will hear from the auditors as the process is ongoing and will receive a full and detailed report when the audit is complete.
What companies can benefit from your energy efficiency products?
Any business with an HVAC can benefit from our efficiency technologies, which lower consumption on your client’s energy usage. If your clients have walk-in or reach-in coolers or freezers, they can benefit even more from these technologies. If your client has approximately 10 locations or more or a single location with multiple devices, they may qualify for our risk-free, no-cost, no-obligation pilot program. Reach out for details!
